Contradictions as a Divine Test: Qur’an, Bible and Kolbrin

Introduction

It is often claimed: “The Bible has been changed, but the Qur’an is intact.”
At first glance this sounds like a defense of divine purity, but in reality, it creates a logical contradiction:

  • If God could not preserve one Revelation, then He undermines His own greatness.
  • If contradictions exist in a Book, then either:
    • God is weak (which is impossible), or
    • God left them deliberately as a test.

And this is exactly what the Qur’an itself explains in Hajj 22:52–53.

Qur’an – Why Contradictions Exist

“We never sent before you a messenger or a prophet without Satan throwing into his recitation. But Allah abolishes what Satan throws, then Allah establishes His verses. … That He may make what Satan throws a trial for those in whose hearts is disease.”
(Hajj 22:52–53)

This statement alone destroys the dogma of “perfect, intact, contradiction-free.” The Qur’an itself acknowledges insertions from Satan — not fully erased, but left as a trial of reason and faith.

So, contradictions are not proof that a Book is false. They are proof that testing layers exist by design.

Kolbrin – The Human Imperfection of Records

“The works of men are imperfect, and no man has ever seen the Light of Truth in absolute purity. … Although two things in our written records may seem contradictory, if not reconciled, what is written later, unless it is an obvious error, is to be more acceptable. Nothing that passes through the hands of many men escapes contamination. Only sincerity and diligence will maintain purity. … In this sphere of lies, cling to all truth, as a man carried by the torrents of a river clings to a log.”
(Kolbrin SOF:15:15)

This teaching confirms that contradictions are not the death of faith but its test. The true task is not to pretend perfection, but to seek, weigh, and cling to the truth.

Why Dogma Rejects This

Dogma must deny this logic.
Because if it admits that contradictions remain as a test, then the Qur’an and Bible are both under the same principle:

  • Preserved enough to guide.
  • Mixed enough to test.

Thus, the claim of “intact perfection” collapses. Instead, we are called to discernment.

Conclusion

Contradictions are not proof against divine origin. They are part of divine design to separate blind followers from seekers of truth. The Qur’an (Hajj 22:52–53) and Kolbrin (SOF:15:15) are unique in making this clear: Revelation is light, but deliberately veiled with shadows — so only the sincere will recognize it.
